What I Do
Eliminate hazards that cause serious harm and handle compliance with minimal overhead.
Hazard Assessment
I walk your facilities looking for the things that kill people—struck-by, caught-between, falls, vehicle incidents. You get a prioritized list of what to fix first based on actual risk, not a generic checklist that treats a missing label the same as an unguarded pinch point.
Incident Analysis
When something goes wrong, I trace it back to systemic causes—not just the person holding the wrench. You get an honest account of what failed and specific changes that prevent it from happening again.
Field Training
I teach your crew to see hazards and make good decisions before something goes wrong. No death-by-PowerPoint, no checkbox completion certificates—practical skills they'll actually use on location.
Safety Programs
JSAs, hazard assessments, emergency action plans—written for how your crew actually works. A safety program built around your operation is useful. One downloaded from the internet is not.
For ISN, Veriforce, and Avetta platform management, I partner with Cook Compliance. I handle the safety work, they handle the compliance paperwork.
David Valerio
I'm a safety guy who works with operators and contractors across the Williston Basin. I started Valerio Safety because too much of what passes for safety work is theater—rules that protect companies from regulators, not workers from hazards.
I take a different approach: focusing on high-energy hazards, the things that actually cause fatalities and serious injuries. I meet compliance obligations efficiently, but passing an inspection isn't the same as keeping people safe.
